Robert J. Hytha, RA, NCARB, is the founder and owner of RJH Architects. He serves as lead architect and designer, with a focus on combining innovative design ideas with practical building techniques to create aesthetically pleasing and functional structures that harmonize with their surroundings.

Bob has been designing, building and managing the construction of residential and lite commercial buildings, work environments and interior spaces for over 30 years. He has extensive experience in all phases of architectural design for new construction, renovations, additions and remodeling projects. His emphasis is in the design-build arena for custom projects, as-builts and retrofits.

After completing his fifth year thesis, Bob earned a Bachelor of Architecture from Temple University. His education includes course work at Villanova University, Boston Architectural Center, Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) and Providence University. He is a registered architect and licensed to practice in PA, NJ, DE, MD and FL. He is a member of the National Council of Architectural Review Boards (NCARB), and serves on the Architectural Review Board for Tredyffrin Township.


Mark Semanko, Associate AIA, has been exposed to the architectural business from the time he was a young boy, having trained under his architect father. He has been formally practicing architecture for over 37 years, with an emphasis in the design-build field. He has been associated with RJH Architects for over 10 years.

After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Catholic University, Mark designed for various firms in the Philadelphia region. His work has ranged from residential design for new construction and historic homes and buildings, to office buildings, hospitals, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, restaurants, retail stores, and commercial and industrial buildings.

In addition to architectural design, Mark has extensive experience in construction management, construction, woodworking and cabinet making, and is proficient in AutoCAD and Photoshop. He is an associate member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and has served on the East Goshen Township Planning Commission.

Mary B. Kaplan, Associate AIA, NCARB, brings nearly 23 years of diverse architectural design experience to the RJH Architects team. She has a unique ability to help clients develop comprehensive programs that meet all their needs and desires, as well as their budgets. Her love of design and desire to be involved in all aspects of a project creates rewarding, successful projects, and lasting client relationships.

Residential design is Mary’s specialty, ranging from custom homes to remodels and additions. She also has worked on a myriad of projects in the commercial, retail, institutional and pharmaceutical industries. One of her restaurant designs for The Big Easy Saloon, Paoli, was featured in Chester County Life magazine.  Another restaurant she designed was Appetites on Main in Exton.

Mary has designed for leading architectural firms in the Philadelphia area, including F. Daniel Cathers, The Sigel Group, Gardner Fox, Abby Schwartz Associates and Edward J. Sarnacki Architects, PC. She holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Spring Garden College. She is an associate member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), Philadelphia Chapter, and belongs to the National Council of Architectural Review Boards (NCARB). Mary is proficient in AutoCAD.
